I need a power inverter to use to power my laptop as there are
no auto/air type that will handle my P-4 driven laptop.. So, I
wonder if any of you know if it will suffice to use a "Modified Sine"
wave inverter or do I really need to spend the extra bucks to buy
a "Pure Sine" wave inverter.... In the online literature that I have
read, they seem to suggest that laptops are OK on Modifed Sine,
however, some companies suggest that one SHOULD use Pure Sine
wave inverters..
Any input on this will be appreciated.

I bought the below referenced Tripp Lite 375 watt inverter for similar reasons.

Hi Burt:

That URL didn't work for me :-(

It looks good from your description.
How much for the 400W unit ?

Dave

David,
I went back to the link I put on here and it didn't work for me either,
but here is
the way to the link.
http://www.dcacpowerinverters.com/ After that page opens, look on the
sorta
upper right corner of window and you will see a box with 400 watt and click
it
and it will open the "other" page that I had shown on previous post to you.
Price is 34.99 plus S/H
See what you think,
Thanks again for you interest.

David,
Thanx for all your input... I think I will give the 34.99 one a go and
see how long it lasts.... Most of them seem to have a 1 year warranty..
Sooooooo.
