Hi.
Wonder if any one can advise please.
I have a friend who was given a computer thats
running Vista (don't know what version)

Only had a few weeks and has had a problem,it would not
boot into vista, computer asked for disc and to click repair

He had to get the disc from friend that gave him the computer,
followed instructions to repair it just kept telling all was repaired and
to restart comp, after restart it just went though the same thing time after
time.

In the end he done a complete re-install of vista,it's now up and running
BUT
he has no sound from comp.
He has Googled and seems to be fairly common problem after re-install,
tried several things that he read on different forums but no joy.

Can anyone help without getting to techie please.
Thanks .
Baz.

If it's a commercially made machine...
just got to the website of the mfg and get the sound drivers for that
model, then install them

Otherwise, the sound card can be ID'ed with a utility such as HWInfo32

once ID'ed go the the mfg and get the drivers

Hi philo.
Thanks for your help.
Have found the program you suggested and
dowloaded, will try on friends computer Sunday.
Thanks.Baz
