a keyboard (driver?) problem

hi,

for a couple of days, i have a problem, probably with the keyboard
driver, that some of the keys refuses to work (5,6,alt sometimes, ctrl
sometimes, right arrow key and the minus keys). i thought it was a
specific keyboard problem, but i've tried another keyboard and the same
problems applied to it too.

i tried reinstalling the microsoft driver without luck (the add
hardware wizard freezes/loops when it comes to a proper driver search),
and i have absolutely no idea about what to do. searched at some
newsgroups and www and it still doesn't help.

i am using windows xp sp2 professional, just for case.

any ideas?

thanks,
