A domain controller could not be contacted....

Hello,
I am running a windows 2000 server. I am trying to join a
windows XP system to the domain. However; I keep getting
this error message: "A domain Controller for the domain
XY could not be conatacted". I think it has to do with
an SRV record setup, but I am not clear on how to it
goes. Here are a couple of other facts:
-I am running NAV corporate edition 7.5 on the server
-The laptop I am trying to join to the domain is
connected via a wireless connection

Thanks a lot

Make sure the ICF firewall is disabled while trying to join the domain and that the
preferred and only dns server for the XP computer in it's tcp/ip properties is an AD
domain controller that is running dns for the domain. You can also nslookup to
verifiy that it is contacting the correct dns server. --- Steve

I have the same problem sometimes.. normally with the
first boot.. however, if I log on locally and then once
the wireless nic connects I can then log out and relog
into the domain and all is well.. It is a timing issue
that I have not resolved other than to use this as a work
around.... It will work for you also, btw, are you using
Linksys wireless nic's?... I am using WPC54G's...note,
the drivers that came with the nic's are outdated for
xp... go to Linksys's website and download the latest
drivers if you are also using the same equp.. will solve
alot of problems...
