A DISK READ ERROR

during startup after it detects all the drives and so forth and it prepares
itself to go to the logon prompt, i get a message that says 'A DISK READ
ERROR' . what can i do. i've rebooted the machine several times, i've tried
to boot from the CD and even the FLOPPY using setup disk, with the hopes of
repairing any errors. i will not even allow me to do that. what is the
problem!!!

please help pleeeeeeaze

The message means that the disk cannot be read. Most likely, the error
cannot be repaired, and you need a new disk.
