9800pro > Cat 7.8

Is anybody running a 9800pro with Cats newer than 7.8 ? When the 7.9 came
out I tried them but it kept failing the Direct3D test in dxdiag so had to
roll back. I tried 7.11 tonight and they still fail the D3D test.

I have a sapphire 128MB 9800pro. Is the 7.8 Cat the limit for these cards ?

Not just the 9800Pro. A lot of newer AGP cards (X1650 Pro) fail to work with
newer-than-7.8 drivers. As far as I know ATi didn't do this intentionally.

I learned this the hard way in 3 different systems...I have to run older
version (7.5's) on my son's Barton 3200 box with a new X1650 Pro AGP 512
card I picked up. Odd thing was the old 9800 Pro worked with the latest
drivers. Wasn't until I gave him the X1650 Pro I got the issues.
