9800 TV Output

I just got my 9800 and when I hook it up to the TV, the are diagonal lines
running from the bottom left to top right across all color areas. Any ideas
what is causing this? It is quite distracting.

I did not get a S-Video cable with the card (Dell), so I used a regular
S-Video cable. Does this need a special cable? I needed a 12 foot cable.

Any kind of regular patterning from a composite signal is usully due to
interference.

12 foot is quite a long way to pick interference up.

Try moving some stuff about, for a start re-route the cable through the
middle of the room or over the top of the window - you get the idea :).

Favourite problem causing items are anything that emit RF - cordless phones,
anything with a motor or electromagnets - speakers etc.

Thanks for the reply.

The pattern not an interference pattern. I have no speakers in the area
(removed them all to check, and no wiring issues. I do get a little
herringbone pattern that is slightly noticeable and I understand it, but
this problem is not a pattern from interference,,,from all I know.

If it's a regular pattern, then it is bound to be interference. Where else
could it come from?

It's just a case of pinpointing the source.

The interference is most likely to disrupt the signal in the cable, or the
magnetic fields in the CRT.
