When I run the compatibility test I get a blue screen,
upon exiting that the last thing it was checking was "dvd
movie player". I've uninstalled every dvd program I've got
with no improvement.

Go to Start>Run type: regedit. Navigate to HKey_Current_User\Software
and Hkey_Local_Machine\Software and
look for any dvd related folders and delete them.

Took out every reference to DVD in the registry, still

getting the blue screen. It reads through all the program
files but when it gets to scanning system it locks at
the "DVD movie player". Be nice to do the upgrade without
the compatibility test
