819696 critical update problem

Hi All,

819696 the last critical update want to keep on downloading and installing
itself....
( maybe 7-8 times now ! )

The last couple of times after the download it just freezes on the install
progress bar with no progress....

The times it did finish it gave a message to say it was complete, but no
restart required. ( I guess this may be correct, but most other critical
updates have required a restart )

This is the first time I have ever had this happen.

Anyone have any thoughts

I have the same problem with Q819696, See my post on 26/07/03 at 22.15 so it
must be something wrong with the patch. Hope MS sort it out.

switch your antivirus off while running the set-up or better still before
you begin the download

The last time I had a similar problem I restored to before the new patch
download, redownloaded and installed and all went well.
