550 5 7 1 relaying denied

My ISP is Road Runner which has been working fine for several years until the
other day I recieved an error message 550 5 7 1 "relaying denied" when
attempting to send email Road Runner was unable to help me, any advice?

WEre you logged onto RoadRunner and trying to send mail through a third party SMTP server? If yes, then you need to set your authentication to authenticate to RR.

unsolicited mail sent to my personal account will be deleted without
reading.

After furious head scratching, LM3 asked:
