503 Valid RCPT TO <recipient> must precede DATA

I have just switched from dial up (no laughing) to dsn. I am using
Outlook for Pop3/SMTP mail. When using Outlook to send emails I get
the following error message.

"503 Valid RCPT TO <recipient> must precede DATA"

If I disconnect from the dsn and go through the dial up Outlook will
send emails just fine.

If I enable McAfee VirusScan the error on the outgoing messages change
to:

"550-EarthLink does not recognize your computer ( ) as connecting from
an Earthlink connection."

Interesting thing about the above message - I have never used
earthlink, and no one in my address book is on earthlink.

I have read through the other postings on these messages, and I have
made all the suggested changes to my Outlook/Outgoing Server
configuration.

Please help!!

Check with your new DSL provider to see what SMTP server you should be using
to send mail. When you were on dialup it was probably an Earthink server
(for whatever reason), now it's probably something else.
