500giga harddisk

Hey,

I've attached 500giga EIDE harddisk on my desktop(windows 2000 sp4).
I can see hdd on pc bios, also on windows disk management console.
But partitioning and formatting is failed. before it, disk management wizard
was appreared and it's failed among try to active that disk. But I could try
partitioning.
I don't remember err msg exactly but I'm thinking the err is that "LDM
writing error"

Can you pls advise me?

What size disk does your BIOS see?
