I may be asking the wrong group. I am not sure. I have asked this question
three times before and no one has replied back.

Some times I get a blinking (brown) task bar. One time I see it happening
is when I am in Word and I go to TOOLS/ENVELOPES AND LABELS. Then the icon
on the taskbar starts blinking brown and I have to click on it to get the
dialog box to come up. I hope I have stated that correctly. This seems to
be something new.

Then again, that task bar could be malware, you can perform a scan
using updated ad-aware and spybot.
