4th, final try -Battery Alarm Custom Sounds Inop.

I can't get sounds I select to play when the battery gets
to the low or critical setting on my notebook. The
warning window, and Windows default sounds work fine. I
know the sound files are valid, they work elsewhere.
Tried resetting the percentage for warning, turning
sounds and warning display on/off, but cannot get
anything other than the default Windows sound to play.
Rechecked the WAV files I selected are in the sound
scheme, others work for the ones I changed.

Is the battery applet one that comes from the laptop mftr.? The battery
monitor on my Thinkpad is from IBM, for instance, and not part of XP.
If your battery monitor is from the laptop mftr., you should ask their
tech support.

Thanks for the reply. I never thought to contact the
mfgr., just assumed it was part of Windows. My error.
Will contact them. Is there a way to tell?

I guess by just looking at your battery applet. Open up the Help>About
and see who made it. The battery monitor on this Thinkpad is an IBM
tool; maybe the battery monitor on your machine is by the mftr., too.

Cheers,
