4gb limitation in OS

Interesting dilemma I can find no info on....
Installed four new PC3200 DDR400 1GB Kingston sticks in an Intel D865PERLK
MB. All is well and shows correctly in POST but the OS shows only 3GB in
System Information. Kingston claims this is a known anomoly in WinXPPro (and
other flavors) but I can find no info in the KB or elsewhere. Kingston also
promised to forward the info but none has been forthcoming 6 days later.
Anybody know of anything....?

Thanks

Carey,
Thanks for responding...I had seen this information but the "Products this
Applies to" link only mentions flavors of Windows 2003 Server. No mention of
XP Pro. Are you telling me it also applies?

Carey has no idea. He got his MVP by using google & pasting other
peoples' answers.

You can try it, but I wouldn't get your hopes up.

Check in Control Panel - System, bottom of General page. There is a bug
i System Information, which often gets this wrong
