480 Authenatics Issue

Actually I do have both the user name and password correct.
Everything has been working fine for months until this morning. I was
reading in the newsgroups and was replying to one. It refused to send my
posting and then did not allow me to read further.
Worked with my ISP people who had to admit they had no solution and then
referred me to Microsoft's fee for service phone number. But then I found
this and hoped I was saved, but no dice.

Sounds like you may not have the correct username and/or password.

Okay, Steve I have done this, now it keeps asking me to sign in which I do
and it asks me again and again and I never get anywhere

So what do I do?

It is possible that the account has become corrupted.
Delete that news account, restart Windows Mail, then recreate
that account.

:

Try Tools | Accounts | News | Properties | Server and check the box that
says it requires you to log on and then specify the username and password.

Error Message:

"Header download for the 'MBAACC1.09-12.MBAI04UA71-MBA510' folder did not
complete. Account: 'mbaacc1.phoenix.edu', Server: 'mbaacc1.phoenix.edu',
Protocol: NNTP, Server Response: '480 authentication required', Port: 563,

How should this problem be solved?

Thanks

I have several times. I even created a new user account on the computer and
started the whole e-mail and news server from scratch. And I still get the
same requirement to sign in over and over again. Even though, each time, I
sign in with the proper user name and password.

Then I don't know what could be causing this problem.
One possible solution would be to try a different email/news program:

Windows Live Mail:
http://get.live.com/betas/maildesktop_betas

Mozilla Thunderbird:
http://www.mozilla.com/thunderbird/
