4 out of 300 users cannot browse to intranet site using DNS

This is a weird one. We have a website that 300 users connect to. 4 of them,
no matter where they login to it from can only access the site using the ip
address and not the dns name. It doesn't matter which of the 300 pcs they use
(all standard builds of xp pro) same failure every time. They get a http 500,
(LSA cannot be contacted) error . A local hosts entry works around the issue
but as they roam all the time its not much of a solution. Deleted profiles
numerous times to no avail.

Anyone have any ideas?

Cheers !
