4 Disc CD Changer

I have a 4 Disc CD Changer drive that doesn't work with
this version of windows. We had it in a Windows 95
machine and everything worked, and it showed up as 4
different CD Rom Drives. But when I put it in this
Windows 2000 machine, it only shows up as one drive and
doesn't read any discs put into any of the 4 drive slots.
I want to use this drive to play music CD's and I want to
be able to put up to 4 in so I don't have to keep
switching between them. I know the machine is working
because I have 2 other CD Rom Drives in it as well. I
know the drive works, because it was in another machine.
Do any of you know if I need to get a driver for it or
anything? Please respond or Email me at

This has been hashed through before, you
are basically screwed. As I remember, there
are no drivers available as all these "changers"
have long since been discontinued.

Perhaps somebody has dredged up some new
info since this was last discussed...

If the manufacturer has a W2k driver for the device, it will work under
W2k as it should. If not, try an NT driver. I have an old NEC 7-disk
changer that works quite well; however, it's SCSI and is seen as 7
different devices on the line, and IIRC no special driver was required.
