** 3rd Post ** - Disable Standby

On Windows XP Professional, when clicking on Start/Turn
Off.... how do i remove the StandBy option?

I only want users to be able to shutdown or restart a
laptop NOT put it in Standby mode accidently.
 
If this is like my laptop, this is specific to the laptop. I had to use the
laptop's utility to turn off "standby mode" then it was no longer a
selection on the shutdown menu.
 
I checked all the settings in BIOS and any other places I
could think of. I'm unable to located anything pertaining
to "standby mode"

Where were your settings located?
 
Did you try Control Panel, Display, Screen Saver Tab, and
click the Power button on the lower right? Change the
System Standby to never.
