3rd Party software marks all emails as read

I work in an insurance agency and we use Outlook 2003. One workstation has a
problem with ALL emails being marked as READ when our customer database
(Agena for Windows "AfW")l inks to the email Inbox to attach the message to
the database. She does NOT have the preview pane on. No one else's email does
this. Our outside contract tech looked at it, as did the AMS database
technicians. They suggested I contact Microsoft, as they couldn't even
recreate the issue! Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Are you sure there's only 1 machine checking email? I see issues all the
time where users unknowningly check the same mailbox from multiple machines
(or two accounts on the same machine pointed at the same mailbox) that
causes weird behavior like this.
 
We can acutally create the problem by marking her emails as unread and then
accessing them via the 3rd party software and we watch them all change to
Read. She does not have another workstation with her email account on it.
(We are not on an exchange server)
