3dMark05 error - Device lost (D3DERR_DEVICELOST)

I can run 3dmark01, 03 and 05 fine - but this evening I started it -
went away and when I came back a popup box with the following error was
there:

IDirect3DDevice9:resent failed: Device lost (D3DERR_DEVICELOST)

I re-ran it again and it was fine.
Any ideas what this could mean?

I have a 9600XT that plays games like Far Cry, doom3, hl2 fine...

Do other 3D programs still work ?

Yes they all work - and 3dMark05 ran fine again the next time. It was
just once that it did this - and I couldn't find a huge amount of info
out from searching google about the error as it mostly seemed to be
people talking about problems they were having developing direct 3d apps!
