3d Video Card

Jeff

I have a Dell Demension 2100 desktop I purchased in Oct.
2001, which came with an Intel 82810 Graphics
Controller. I now am running into problems with newer
games which say "this video card does not support HW
T&L". I do not know alot about computers and I'm
wondering if it is possible to change this video card for
a newer one, like if I added a memory card or
something ?? If it is possible, what / where / how to
complete the transfer ?? FYI I have an Intel Celeron
Processor, 900mhz, 512mb of RAM and I've downloaded the
latest driver for the Intel I have.

Hi Jeff,

Your system really isn't an ideal one for gaming.

You could buy a GeForce4 or Radeon card instead of
using your onboard chipsets. Those will support Hardware
T&L, but since you don't have an AGP slot, you will have to
buy a PCI version for regular slots instead.

That means your card won't perform as well as an AGP card
which use those AGP slots especially made for graphics. In
answer to the next logical question: No, you cannot install an
AGP slot. It has to be part of the motherboards original design.
