Most likely you have a 32-bit version; however to be sure go to Start | Run
and type "winmsd". (without the quotation marks) Look at the processor(s)
listed and if they start with anything besides ia64, then you have a 32-bit
installation of Windows XP.
Assume that you have a 32bit computer until the day that you walk into a
computer store and ask for a pc that has an "Itanium processor".. on that
day, ensure that you have plenty of cash in your wallet or alternatively, an
Amex Gold card.. do not be surprised if the sales person looks a little
baffled by the mention of "Itanium".. when he/she tells you that an AMD
Duron 800 will do the same job, be sceptical..
