300 gb sata hard drive

When I install windows xp it only recognises 131 gb hard drive but bios is
reading it ok as 300 gb

But then maybe you need to install sata/raid drivers - read instructions
supplied with your mobo manual as to the usage of sata hd's

In order for Windows XP setup to see past 137 GB on a disk, the
installation CD must incorporate SP1 or SP2. Google Windows
slipstreaming to see how to accomplish this.
