My motherboard went belly up in my computer. I did not
have time to save any info from hard drive.
Had to change out motherboard, Windows XP would not come
online. Had to reformat hard drive. Loaded Windows XP
(only second time), now I get the message I only have
thirty days to purchase another serial number because
this program was loaded on another computer.
Same computer different motherboard.
My income is Social Security Disability $800 a month. I
don't have the money to purchase a serial number every
time i load up Windows XP.
How can I convey this to Microsoft without paying half my
monthly wages?
all help apreciated.

Tom;
I doubt it says "thirty days to purchase another serial number".
You can activate by phone.
At the activation screen, choose the option to activate by phone.
Call the dispalyed number to Microsoft, done in about 5 minutes.
Nothing more to it.

Tom,You should be able to call the 800 # to microsoft and explain to them that you had to replace the mainboard and that you what to reactivate Windows XP on your computer. They should give you a new I believe it's a 45 digit # to reactivate. They might ask you how many other computers you have this product installed on. Of course tell them that this was the only computer it's just that you had to change the mainboard. I hope this helps you.
