3 Post SP2 Problems

Tony

I installed SP2 yesterday and have notice 3 problems.

There are now 2 internet connection icons (the 2 little
computers) on my task bar. One is fine and says I am
connected to my DSL. The other has an " ! " in it. Its
says that Lan Limited or No Connectivity. If I try
to "repair" it, I get message saying my IP cannot be
renewed. If I try to disable it, it disconnect my DSL
and will not permit me to reconnect saying my modem is
unplugged (which it is not).

I am not receiving email notifications. I have checked
the setting on windows messenger and it is set to receive
them. Messenger also used to show if there were any
emails in my in box and it no longer does.

Also, and most importantly, when windows messenger
starts, my display area narrows seveal inches on each
side. I have attempted resizing it in display properties
with no luck. I have checked Nvidia and I have the
latest drivers (TNT Riva 64 TNT2 Model 64).

As regards Windows Messenger, SP2 installs a new version 4.7.3000, which
doesn't allow add-ins. This stops the add-in that gives the show emails /
show profiles etc functionality from working

Best thing to do is to downgrade back to the previous version ie 4.7.2009

If you check microsoft.public.windowsxp.messenger
you'll see hundreds of posts on this issue

Any problems with it, repost

Jon
