3 min delay in opening My Computer

Why does it take 3 mins to open the file folder My Computer
using explorer? This only occurs once at the inital
booting. John

Are you using TCP/IP on a network?
Check your DNS settings, point them to your own PC.

Thanks Ramesh....It actually turned out to be my HP scanner
Model 5370C. Unplugged same and that fixed the problem.
