3.5 diskette drive

Have a notebook with 3.5" diskette drive. Got a diskette caught in the
drive. When I finally got the diskette out the drive was broken. Took the
drive apart & fixed that BUT the drive is now misaligned. I can write & read
diskettes written by that drive but not with other drives. So anyone know
how to align the heads or pointer to advise. BTW I would just get a new
drive but they want $40 for that type of drive. Think that drive was made by
mitumi & model d352f2 but as I remember when I opened the case the type was
different. HELP

It will be cheaper in the long run to buy a new drive and
install it. The tools required to fix the drive cost more
than a drive and the labor cost to fix the drive are far
higher than $40.

If a floppy has any damage to the shutter DO NOT put it in
the drive, it will get caught and then you have the problem.
You can remove the shutter from the drive and then insert
the floppy in the drive and make a copy on a new floppy.
Without the shutter the disk can be damaged but you can
salvage the data to a new floppy before any damage happens.
