2nd Partion and Logical Drive

D

David

Folks -

My W2K laptop has a 5.6GB drive split into 2 partions and
2 logical drives (C: and D:). After I delete the logical
drive and partition, how do I reallocate the free space to
my C: drive without doing a system reinstall?

Thanks,

David

You will need a third party software to do this. Partition Magic, for
instance.

There is a non-supported way of doing this, using diskpart.exe from a safe
mode boot with command prompt. This MS Knowledge Base article will tell you
more:

http://support.microsoft.com/?id=325590

The article says that this is not recommended on the system or boot
partition, but it usually works anyway, if you do it from "safe mode with
command prompt".

Best regards

Bjorn
