Having successfully installed a 120GB HD I made a mess of
setting it up and can only access 32248 MB. De-
partitioning and starting again with XP's Disk Management
gets me no further, the Wizard only offers a max size of
33822MB. Is it possible to re-set the Wizard to zero ?
One can zero the setting figures but the line above stays
at 33822. In essence, how can I achieve a 100GB
partition on this drive ?

You must format the drive with NTFS and not FAT32. XP limits formatting
FAT32 drives to 32GB.

Hello

Well you need to make sure that your computer will support
a drive that large, meaning that your bios will support it, how old
is your pc. can you provide that inof. If your pc is fairly new that
see the link below.

How to Enable 48-bit Logical Block Addressing Support for ATAPI Disk
Drives in Windows XP

You don't neeed 48-bit LBA until the drive is larger than 137Gb.

XP will see drives larger than32 Gb if that drive was set up using DOS's
FDISK and format.

Some manufaturer's have software on their web site to help you set up new
drives. Or did you prehaps get a CD with the drive?
