2nd drive not seen!

I just installed a new 40 gig Maxtor in a gateway and
left the old IBM-dpta 20 gig (with win98 and all the
files)in for a drive D:. It shows up in device manager
and computer storage manager in ADMIN tools. It is not
showing in my computer and the is no drive letter
assigned in disk management. Can anyone offer any
suggestions? Oh and it shows up in the BIOS as the slave!

Hi:
You have to initalize the drive and then new partition it, drive letter
will be assigned and icon for this drive will show up

Did you try formatting it yet?

Before I do that I must save sofe files off that drive.
Is there any way to access it?
