2G Ram, system settings..

I just recently upgraded my laptop to 2 gigs of ram. And it is working
fine.

What I was wondering is if there is a setting somewhere, to force
windows to use as much of my ram as possible, before ever using the swap
file?

The reason I say this, is even though I now have so much Ram, windows
is STILL swapping stuff out to my swap file.

can I safely turn the swap file off? or should I?

TIA

You really shouldn't disable the swap file (page file in XP) because it's
likely to cause more errors than it's worth. Using various tweak application
you can force the OS to load a number of files to RAM and if the system has
enough RAM the tweak works fairly well. While you can do this manually if
you wanted it's far easier to get a trial version of XSP from
www.x-setup.net and making your changes with that.
