I need a formula to calculate [number of years] ago today.

Please help
 
You need to be more specific!
To compare dates, you need two of them. You only mentioned one (today).
Also, you need to specify how you want it to work i.e. whole years or
partial years?
Take a look in Access help at the DateDiff() function.

DateAdd("yyyy", -21, Date())

or

DateAdd("yyyy", - [Number of years], Date())
