I haave recently tried to install windows 2K server and
Advanced server to a new 200G HDD, only during hdd
detection stage of setup it only detects my disk as being
131G.

Could anyone let me know if there is any known remedt for
this problem, it is not my hardware, have tried to drives
and two mainboards.

On both systems hdd is fully read in bios as correct size.

create a 2/100gig partitions on the disk... there should be not problem...
The problem is during setup, windows 2k server setup can
only address 131G of the drive, if i create a 100G
partition then i will only b able to add a 31G partition
onto it.

Have since discovered that i need a win2k server pack (4,
i think) to b installed to allow 48-bit addressing for
volumes larger than 137G.

To resolve the issue have managed to aquire win server
2k3 ent, this already has 48-bit addressing as can fully
read me hdd.

Problem is sorted for now, but would love to know how one
is supposed to install 2k server to a 200G hdd, i don't
believe there is a version of 2k server/advnc server wiv
the relevant sp inc.

Tried to seek assistance from microscoff but have to pay
for support.

how nice.

Many thanx for ya help anyway,

is much appreciated
