2003 Word e-mail editor

I have several emails merged to Access. Each time I try to open one of them,
I get a message saying "Starting MS Word 2003 as email editor". It locks up
everytime, and I have to "end task" Outlook. I tried turning off Word as the
email editor, but apparently Access merges aren't available for emails w/o
Word as editor.

Are you using the whole Office 2003 suite or only Outlook 2003?

the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.

After furious head scratching, reloguy asked:
