2003 Uninstall & Reinstall

Hi, I installed an Access database that I created on my computer
(Windows XP & Office XP) on a client's computer (Windows XP & Office
XP) and was getting a Windows installer 1706 DAO error when trying to
access some fields. My client decided to uninstall then reinstall
Office XP on his computer. Problem - when he tried to open his Outlook
after this none of his mail or messages were there. He tried importintg
his Outlook 300M pst file but got a version not compatible error. He
did not have the option to create an Outlook 97-2002 Data file so he
uninstalled Office XP and installed Office 2000 but could not open it
that way either. He then tried reinstalling Office XP and deleting the
newly created Outlook (1) pst file in the user/application data folder
so that Outlook would open the 300M Outlook pst file in that same
folder instead but that did not work either. I assume that this pst
file contains email messages from years ago and maybe in more than one
previous version of Outlook. There may have been some service packs
installed before we originally unistalled Office XP but I am not sure
which ones or if that would matter. What else can we try?

Install Office/Outlook 2003 or newer. (Only Outlook 2003 or newer has two
different PST file formats. The new unicode format is not compatible with
the older versions and if a user attempts to open, then they get the not
compatible error.)
