2003 Newsgroup reader

I recently installed Outlook 2003. I followed the directions for adding the
news icon to the GO menu and it appeared to work. I was able to open the
newsreader. However, when I closed the newsreader and then tried to go back
to it the icon on the GO menu was no longer there. Further, it was no longer
an option under the customize toolbar menu.

Sometimes the icon is showing up under the GO menu but when I try to use it,
it only opens a folder on my computer rather than the news reader. Does
anyone know how to correct this behavior? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

John

Set OE as your default news reader in Control Panel > Internet Options >
Programs.
If OE ever asks you to set it as the Default newsreader when you launch it,
answer no.

I am trying to follow the directions on adding the news icon to the go button. When I drag it across nothing happens.

Can you tell me what is suppose to happen?

You drag it UP to the menu bar, not accross. It took me awhile to figure that out also.
