2000-XP upgrade: WIFI problem

I upgraded a 2000 Pro laptop to XP Pro, compatibility
wizard did not indicate a WIFI driver issue with my
Lucent PC24EHFC wireless card, I've tried the XP driver,
an Avaya Driver, and one from Agere Systems, no Wireless
Network tab is indicated. MS FAQ says to disable
WirelessZero Configuration, which I did, no change.

I need advice to either fall back to 2000Pro (need WIFI)
or is there a better driver or config to change?

I solved the problem by setting the System Management
settings on WIFI Zero Configuration service to Automatic,
vs the default Manual, or as Microsoft's FAQ suggested,
to Disable.
