2000 restart during video play

[small issue]

when i play any video on a website or email my computer
likes to restart automatically. all games play great w/
no problem. 512mb ram - nvidia gforce4 ti 4400 - directx
9.0 - display set at 1280*768 w/ true color 32bit 70hz.
settings wrong? processor overheat? more ram? should i
just not try to ever whatch video? right now i blame the
dog. please help me

Thats a rather "odd" video resolution. 1024x768 is a regular one. You
don't mention what you did to your system between when it was working
and when it "broke". You could always reload whatever you're using to
"run" the videos you mention.
