how do I get into the windows 2000 BIOS??, I have just
loaded 2000 on my machine and unless the CD is in the CD-
ROM it will not load windows, I need to access the BIOS in
order to change it from booting up from the CD-ROM and
instead load from the hard-drive

The BIOS is part of your computer's motherboard, not part of Windows.

There will be a special key you have to press (it depends on the make of
motherboard, but it's usually one of F1, F2, Del, Esc). You may see a
message such as "Press Del to enter setup" when your machine is booting
(before Windows starts to load).

Hope this helps

The operating system is immaterial. Only you know what
motherboard and BIOS you have, so only you know the answer to your
question. ;-}

In the extremely unlikely event that your PC's manual doesn't
contain the needed information, try one or both of the following:

How do I access my computer's setup (BIOS)

It is extrememly likely that, if you are able to change the boot order
that you will still be prompted to insert the CD. In fact the the fact
that it prompts you insert the CD seems to mean that it has NOT booted
off the CD. You have some other problem. Can you describe exactly what
happens when you boot your machine, including any error messages.

Cliff
