In the past, my PC runned with WinXP. But after a week, I started heving problems when gaming so I switched to Win2k. It's running for allmost a month now, without problems, better performance. But I'm still wrestling with this question. Win2k wasn't designed for games, so is it allrigt to play heavy games or can I expect some severe OS crashes in the future...

Thanks in advance

The only thing you will lose as using Win2k as your gaming platform is some
compatibility with some older games (ie some older games will not run on
Win2k). Typically this just includes games that predate Win9x (like DOS
games).

You will have less compatability problems with Win2K than WinXP.
