200 gb hard drive

when installing xp pro the software will not recognise my
200 gb hard drive the most it will give is 130 gb ....
any ideas on how to get it to recognise the full 200 gb

You need two things to support a drive that large:

1. A mothboard with a BIOS and controller that supports 48-bit
LBA (or alternatively, an add-in controller card that does).

2. At least SP1 of Windows XP.

If you want the installation program to see the entire 200GB drive,
you have to use a version of the XP installation CD that has SP1
incorporated in it, either by slipstreaming SP1 into the original
release or using a recent release.

The bios has to see it correctly also. It's a two step fix.
