2 XL versions on one pc?

Marvin Hlavac

I have XL-XP installed and I need XL97. Do I need to uninstall XL-XP before
installing XL97 or I can have them both?

Thanks in advance.

Hi

See the post by me and many responses by MVP'S on Feb 7 2004 in this
newsgroup.

Marvin ,

Yes, you can have them both, but you will need to un-install XP first.

Then install 97.

Then re-install XP.

When installimng, be sure to specify different folders for 97 and 2002.

Hi Ken,

I just finished reading the whole thread. So you took the easiest (very
tempting) route and you just installed the older version to a new folder.
How is it now, three days later? Still no problems? I, just like you, need
only Excel, not the whole Office.

Marvin,

It sure is. I have 97, 2000, and 2002 on my workstation. No problems
whatsoever.

Hi

So far I have not had any problems, but I am sure the correct and safest
route is to do the uninstall first, then reinstall xl97 and then xlxp as
stated by the majority of MVP's.
