A few years ago a tech from Best Buy installed a copy of Windows XP
home on my computer. The CPU came with Windows XP Pro. installed on it
(back in '01 or '02). It was a bootleg copy of Windows XP home and now
it doesn't even work. Would a dual OS take up a bunch of room on my
hard drive? I am getting it taken off soon (by the Geek Squad, LOL,
plus they are doing some more work) but I am wondering if that could be
one of the causes of me having only like 14% left on my hard drive. Any
help you can give would be great...thanx

Lets see my XP home installation takes up about 3.2 gb of HD
space...........plus all of the files under Documents&Settings.
So with 2 OS on the same HD Partition that would
double.............................plus some since you've Pro.
I find it incredulous that a tech from a major retailer would install a non
legal copy of XP into the same partition that already holds a legal copy of
XP Pro!!!!!!!!!!
Personally if it was my system I would save all of my work to a DVD and
reinstall XP pro from scratch formatting the HD in the process and then
reinstall all of my programs. This way I would know what the hell I have and
be starting from a clean slate that only I can f--- up
