Can I install 2 windows XP on the same HDD, but on different partitions?
If yes, will it create the boot list alone to choose the needed version on
booting?

Yes, and yes .. although this is against the strict terms of your
License agreement with MS (start, run, winver, hit the link to read the
EULA you have agreed to, and note it says you can only install one copy
on the PC).

Product activation doesn't object to you doing it though, and most
reasonable people (i.e. non-MS-lawyers) would see no problem.

Yes, in fact if you have the available drives, this is a very good idea.

Have a main installation, and an "emergency" one you can boot into in
case of problems.

Saved my life God knows how many times.

Remember to edit the "boot.ini" file so that each installation has a
unique name, otherwise you might get a bit confused.
