just wondering the best way to add a 2nd monitor to my setup. i want it to be
live (an extension of my curret monitor) so i can have more programs open and
visible at the same time.

i tried this a while back when using w2000p (now on XP2) and for some reason the
2nd video card wasn't recongnised, advice back then was to buy a 'two in one'
video card.

many thanks

3 people in my office added extra cheap or old PCI video cards to
Windows2000 or XP. Each works perfectly. The dis-advantage of using
separate cards is that each monitor may have different capabilities. On
my PC, the monitor attached to the cheaper video card does not display
video well. If I drag the application to the faster video card, all is
well.

When i said it "did not show video well", I was trying to say that it
does not show some 3-d full-motion video well. Because the card is old,
it does not have the hardware capabilities that are available in a more
modern card.

excellent, thankyou all.

i'm not a gamer or looking for any special effects, so a cheap card should do
the job.
