2 GCs in a single domain?

Dear All,

As referring to MS Win2000 Server Admin Companion, it said that in mixed
mode environment, there must have at least one GC per domain. Now, my
situation is I have a Domain (say DomA), Win2000 Server acts as a PDC and
Win2003 Server as an additional DCs and the GC is currently reside on the
Win2000 server.
My question is what is the impact (good or bad) if I assign an additional GC
onto Win2003 server? I mean running 2 GCs at the same time in the same
domain.

It will have a copy of the GC on it.
This is good, if you lose one box you are still have an active GC
The only downside is replication traffic, and if you have a single site or
fast links, it is not really an issue.

If you have only a single domain, the recommendationis to make every DC in the
domain a GC. If you have multiple domains, you should make every DC a GC that
can handle the replication load or that handles a site by itself.
