2 different logins on the same PC

Hello,

How do I set up a new user (userB) on a Windows 2000 SP4 computer? UserA and
UserB will both use the same computer.

I did this once before a long time ago and forgot how I did it. I remember
after logging in as UserB, I had to configure the desktop for User B. And
UserA retained his desktop settings.

Thanks for your help,
Millie

Hi Dave,

I did set up UserB in Control Panel|Users and Passwords as UserB in the
XYZ.COM domain. But when I logged in as UserB, UserA's desktop was displayed
rather than a new desktop for me to configure for UserB. I went ahead and
changed Outlook XP for UserB and the email didn't work because there was a
violation. Then when I logged in as UserA, the Outlook still contained the
changes made for UserB. I had to change the Outlook back to for UserA. Then
UserA's email worked again.

I don't know why I'm not getting a new desktop to configure for UserB. What
am I doing wrong?

Thanks,
Millie

Hi Dave,

Thanks for the link. I found out what was the problem. I needed to create a
local user on the computer in addition to the user on the network. After
that, I was able to get a new desktop to configure for UserB.

Thanks again,
Millie
