2 Anti Virus Programs

I want to install a 2nd anti virus program on my pc as i want to have a 2nd
option if i'm suspect about a file. I understand that you can't have both
programs running at the same time so obviously would need one to run as
usual & one that does not start at boot-up so i'd have no conflicts. I've
got McAfee version 8 & AVG version 7. Is there any procedure to follow to
enable a trouble free installation or is it not really worth the bother. Any
advice would be appreciated.

I don't know about those two programs in particular, but I run NOD32
and Avast. NOD32 runs in the background and scans incoming E-Mail.
Avast scans outgoing E-mail only, no background scan and on demand if
I want to do a special scan.

Use McAfee and dump AVG. See my web site for a couple of good (and
free) on-demand scanners ... The Escan Toolkit and Trend's Sysclean.
