16 bit MS-DOS Sub system error

When I open a program using MS-DOS in fullscreen, I get:

16 bit MS-DOS Sub system

This system does not support fullscreen mode. Choose 'close' to terminate
the application.

How do I correct this?

Is this a Vista Problem?

I get this message on my home computor(Intel Core 2 Duo E6600, graphic card
NVIDIA GeForce Go 8800) and my portable(Intel Core 2 Duo T7200, graphic card
NVIDIA GeForce Go 7600) using Vista Ultimate french version.

If I use my old computor with XP Pro SP2, everything is ok. No problem to
get fullscreen.

Please help

Yes. Sorry to say, you will not be able to run a full screen 16 bit DOS app
in Vista's command prompt window.

The workaround is running MS-DOS and your 16 bit program in a virtual
machine, such as Microsoft Virtual PC or DOSBox.

Microsoft Virtual PC 2007:

DOSBox emulator:

Thanks for your help Charlie42,

Since I have no choice, I will download both, Mocrosoft Virtual PC and
DosBox emulator to see which is better.
